Purpose

On January 11, 2021, the NIH issued the following Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs):

  1. RFA-DA-21-030 HEAL Initiative: Integrative Management of chronic Pain and OUD for Whole Recovery (IMPOWR): Research Centers (RM1 Clinical Trial Required)
  2. RFA-DA-21-029 HEAL Initiative: Integrative Management of chronic Pain and OUD for Whole Recovery (IMPOWR): Coordination and Dissemination Center (R24 Clinical Trial Optional)
  3. RFA-MH-21-145 HEAL Initiative: Optimizing Multi-Component Service Delivery Interventions for People with Opioid Use Disorder, Co-Occurring Conditions, and/or Suicide Risk (R01 Clinical Trials Optional)

Since researchers funded through any of the three aforementioned FOAs are expected to coordinate with one another, a joint pre-application informational webinar will be provided on January 29, 2021.

Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm ET

The intent of the pre-application webinar is to provide an overview of RFA-DA-21-029, RFA-DA-21-030, and RFA-MH-21-145, identify areas of synergies and distinctions between the two programs, and to address questions from potential applicants. The webinar is optional and not required for application submission. The webinar may conclude before the scheduled time depending on the number of questions.

Following the webinar, the slides presented during the webinar will be posted on the same website. Prospective applicants with inquiries concerning the FOA who are unable to participate in the webinar are encouraged to view the summary of questions and answers after the webinar.
