NOTICE REGARDING THE AVAILABILITY OF ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPLEMENTS TO SUPPORT 
STUDY OF DRUG ABUSE AND CO-OCCURRING INFECTIONS INCLUDING HIV, OTHER BLOOD-
BORNE AND SEXUALLY-TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS

PURPOSE

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) announces the availability of 
funds to administratively supplement existing NIDA-supported research 
projects (within the scope of the original grant) to study drugs of abuse and 
co-occurring infections including HIV and other blood-borne and sexually 
transmitted infections. Funds will be provided through administrative 
supplements to take advantage of unique opportunities to support research in 
all areas of drug-abuse and HIV/AIDS science.  Only existing R01 and R21 
grants supported by NIDA with at least one year of support remaining at the 
time of the supplemental award are eligible for supplemental support under 
this notice. Supplements may be requested for up to 2 years of support, but 
extend no longer than the parent grant, with funding beginning no later than 
September 30, 2002.  For more information refer to
