On May 2, 2005, the Office of Public Health Research, CDC, issued a Request for Applications entitled, RFA-CD-05-109 Centers of Excellence in Public Health Informatics that is available at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-CD-05-109.html. This Notice is to inform the scientific community that the OPHR is amending RFA-CD-05-109 , Centers of Excellence in Public Health Informatics to help clarify:

1. Funding amount available
2. Number of awards to be made
3. Duration of awards
4. Approximate funding range

OPHR intends to commit approximately three million dollars in total costs in FY 2005 for these Centers of Excellence in Public Health Informatics.
OPHR intends to fund one to three new Centers of Excellence in Public Health Informatics in response to this RFA.
An applicant may request a project period of up to three (3) years .
Awards will range from approximately 1 million to 1 .5 million in total costs per year for no more than three years.
