National Cancer Institute (NCI)
This Notice informs potential F32 individual postdoctoral fellowship applicants that effective December 10th, 2024, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) will no longer participate in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) PA-23-262 "Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (Parent F32), or any reissuances of the NOFO thereafter.
NCI will not accept any applications, including resubmissions, submitted in response to PA-23-262 or any reissuances of the NOFO on or after December 10, 2024.
In lieu of NCI's participation in the Parent NIH F32 program, research training support for late-stage graduate students and early-stage postdoctoral scholars will be available through NCIs "Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32)" under the K32 activity code. Please refer to NOT-25-016 and NOT-25-017 for more information.
Candidates for the ACE K32 award must be within 12 months before transitioning to their postdoctoral position, or within the first two years of their postdoctoral research training to apply for this award (resubmissions included). The candidate must have identified a postdoctoral research group and developed a strong research and training plan prior to, or shortly after, starting with their mentor. The award will allow for postdoctoral scholars to apply at the beginning of their postdoctoral training phase without the need for preliminary data. U.S. citizenship will not be required to apply for or to receive this award.
