Purpose

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to promote a new initiative by publishing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to solicit applications for the Coordinating Center for the Consortium of Translational Research in Early Detection of Liver Cancer. The role of the Coordinating Center will be to work with the investigators in the Consortium of Translational Research in Early Detection of Liver Cancer (see NOT-CA-17-060). The coordinating center will provide the Consortium of Translational Research in Early Detection of Liver Cancer with network coordination, statistical support and computational analysis and data management.

This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.

The FOA is expected to be published in Summer of 2017 with an expected application due date in Fall of 2017.

This FOA will utilize the U24 activity code. Details of the planned FOA are provided below.

Research Initiative Details

This Notice encourages investigators with expertise and insights into the areas of network coordination, statistical support and computational analysis and data management to begin to consider applying for this new FOA.

In addition, collaborative investigations combining expertise in biostatistics, biorepositories, bioinformatics information technology, as well as data management and analysis will be encouraged and these investigators should also begin considering applying for this application.

The major responsibilities of the Coordinating Center for the Consortium of Translational Research in Early Detection of Liver Cancer will include: coordination of consortium-wide meetings and conferences, and collaborative activities; statistical support and computational analysis; and data management and protocol development for the biorepository.
