Issued by
National Cancer Institute (NCI)
Purpose
The NCI participates in the NIH Parent Program Announcement PA-14-149 "Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (Parent F32)." Through this Notice, the NCI announces that eligible applicants are welcome to submit F32 applications to PA-14-149 that request postdoctoral support for studies that are related to a goal of building effective therapeutic approaches for KRAS-driven tumors. KRAS, in particular, is being targeted for study by the NCI (www.cancer.gov/ras) because it is one of the most mutated genes across all cancer types, especially in pancreatic, lung, and colon cancers.
Examples of KRAS-relevant areas of research that are of interest to NCI are listed below. This list is not meant to be exhaustive.
No aspect of the parent F32 announcement PA-14-149 is changed by this Notice. Moreover, this Notice should NOT be construed as any limitation in the scope of research that may be proposed in F32 applications for NCI support. The NCI encourages all interested and eligible applicants, no matter which area of cancer research they wish to study, to apply to PA-14-149.
NCI-Specific Information pertaining to F32 applications can be found by following the hyperlinked Table of IC-Specific Information, Requirements and Staff Contacts in PA-14-149 (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/contacts/parent_F32.html) and on the NCI web page for the Ruth L.
