The Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP), Division of Cancer
Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI)
is seeking support to systematically test agents in childhood cancer
pre-clinical models. The primary objective of this RFP is to identify
and calibrate a panel of predictive pediatric pre-clinical models to
inform pediatric oncologists' prioritization of new agents for
evaluation in children with cancer. The Contractor will systematically
test 10-15 agents or combinations of agents per year against a panel of
pre-clinical models of the childhood cancers that occur most commonly
in children. The intended outcome of the project is to improve
survival for children with cancer by identifying for clinical testing
the most effective agents from among the universe of oncologic agents
potentially available for evaluation in children with cancer. The
detailed Solicitation (RFP: N01-CM-37027-23) will be available on or
about August 20, 2003 on the Research Contracts Branch, NCI website,
with a due date for receipt of proposals of October 6, 2003. The web
site of the Research Contracts Branch, NCI is:
