NCI POLICY ON SMALL RESEARCH GRANTS (R03)

National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) advises potential grant applicants 
that acceptance by the NCI of small research grants (R03) will be 
considered only in response to an NCI announcement specifically 
inviting such applications.  Unsolicited grant applications in areas 
not covered by the announcements proposing preliminary short-term 
research projects limited in time and amount of support will not be 
accepted by the NCI.  Currently, four specific program announcements 
inviting small research grant (R03) applications are ongoing annually.

o  PA-01-021   Small Grants Program for Cancer Epidemiology.  
Application Receipt Dates:  April 20, 2001, August 20, 2001, December 
20, 2001, April 22, 2002, August 20, 2002, and December 20, 2002.
