ADDENDUM - CANCER EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PAR-00-064)

This addendum is to inform potential applicants of a change in the level of 
support permitted under Other Expenses for a postdoctoral candidate/trainee, 
under Program Announcement (PA), PAR-00-064, CANCER EDUCATION AND CAREER 
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.  This change applies retroactively to all applications 
submitted to this Program Announcement.  The change is as follows:

Under Section D. 2.  Other Expenses (Page 5).  The new amount is up to 
$30,000 in direct costs per year per postdoctoral candidate/trainee, adjusted 
to the actual percent effort, and can be provided for the following types of 
expenses: (a) research expenses, such as supplies, equipment, and technical 
personnel, (b) tuition, fees, and books related to career development, (c) 
travel to research meetings or training, and (d) statistical services 
including personnel and computer time.  These costs must be specifically and 
directly related to the candidate’s research activities.  Please note that 
the level of Other Expenses for a predoctoral trainee remains at $20,000/yr, 
the same provisions and restrictions continue, as stated in the original 
Program Announcement (PAR-00-064).
