CHANGE IN RECEIPT DATES FOR COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE (CAM)
EDUCATION PROJECT GRANTS

Release Date: December 5, 2000

NOTICE: AT-01-001

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
(NCCAM) announces a change in the guidelines related to the
application receipt dates for the CAM Education Project Grant (R25)
program. The Program Announcement (PAR-00-027) appeared in the NIH
Guide for Grants and Contracts and can be accessed at the following
URL: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-00-027.html

As issued, the Program Announcement stated that applications would be
accepted at the standard application deadlines as indicated in the
Form PHS 398 instructions (February 1, June 1, and October 1 for new
applications; March 1, July 1, and November 1 for revised
applications). In order to provide the highest quality of peer
review, and in order to ensure that the fairest and most consistent
funding decisions are made within each fiscal year, the NCCAM has
determined that a single application receipt date will be used for
each fiscal year.

Effective immediately, R25 applications submitted to the NCCAM in
response to PAR-00-027 will be accepted only for the October 1, 2001
and October 1, 2002 receipt dates (November 1, 2001 and November 1,
2002 for revised applications) with applications assigned to May 2002
and 2003 Councils for funding decisions, respectively.
