Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to clarify the eligibility criteria for the Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI) in the following section of PAR-16-268: "Limited Competition: Small Grant Program for NIAMS K08 and K23 Recipients (R03)". The following is detailed information about the modification.

The following language is added to the FOA:

Only current NIAMS-supported K08 or K23 awardees in their second to fourth year of award are eligible to apply for this funding opportunity. K awardees who have already successfully competed for an R01, or equivalent, grant are ineligible.  See NOT-OD-08-065 for the definition of 'equivalent' R01 grant.
