Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform applicants of the following change to the Funding Opportunity Description as it pertains to the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in PAR-23-065, “NIAID Resource-Related Research Projects (R24-Clinical Trial Not Allowed)”. Please note, the Funding Opportunity Description as it pertains to the Division of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (DAIDS) and the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation (DAIT) is not changed and the original language remains applicable. This Notice applies to due dates on or after May 25, 2025 and subsequent receipt dates through the expiration of the NOFO. The NOFO has been updated as follows.

Purpose

As a first step, potential applicants are highly encouraged to contact the Scientific/Research Contact listed below for programmatic priorities.

Note: The Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID) supports a comprehensive suite of product development services and research tools, resources, and technologies to assist researchers that can be found here.

DMID will support applications to develop unique non-clinical resources that can be utilized by the broader infectious disease research community. The following resource-related applications are NOT appropriate for DMID funding:

  • Applications which propose to duplicate efforts that can be obtained under one of DMID’s resources.
  • Applications to support clinical sample repositories.
