K Salary and Research Support
Effective for application due dates on or after June 12, 2024, NIAID will raise the maximum salary and research support provided on NIAID K99 awards through the Parent and MOSAIC notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs) or any reissues of these NOFOs, on NIAID K25 awards through the Parent NOFO or any reissue, and on NIAID K01 awards through the Parent NOFO or any reissue.
NIAID K99, K25, and K01 award levels will be:
Salary Support
Up to $100,000 plus fringe benefits per year (increased from $75,000). As always, salary must be consistent with effort committed to the award and institutional compensation policies.
Research Support
Up to $50,000 per year (increased from $25,000 for K99 and K01, increased from $20,000 for K25).
R00 Years for Support
Effective for application dues dates on or after June 12, 2024, NIAID will increase the support period for the R00 phase through the Parent NOFO or any reissue. The K99/R00 award will provide up to 5 years of support in two phases. The K99 phase will provide support for up to 2 years of mentored postdoctoral career development. The R00 phase will provide up to 3 years (increased from 2 years) of independent research support.
