Purpose

The purpose of this notice is to:

  1. extend the expiration date for RFA AI-08-011, Ancillary Studies in Immunomodulation Clinical Trials (R01), from June 10, 2009 to January 10, 2010
  2. change the receipt dates from monthly to every-other-month, beginning July 9, 2009
  3. provide NIAMS, NINDS, and NIDDK staff contact information under Scientific Research Contacts

The participating NIH Institutes intend to commit approximately $2M in FY2010 to fund 4-5 new grants to support ancillary immune mechanistic studies in conjunction with independently supported clinical trials of a) immunomodulatory interventions for immune system mediated diseases or b) vaccines for non-HIV/AIDS infectious diseases.

Other than the changes noted above, other aspects of RFA AI-08-011 remain unchanged.
