Purpose:
The purpose of this Notice is to announce changes in PAR-08-130 entitled “International Research in Infectious Disease including AIDS (IRIDA) Program (R01)” http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-08-130.html.
For clarification purposes the Letter of Intent Date(s) for 2008, 2009 and 2010 are as follows:
August 15, 2008, August 14, 2009, August 16, 2010.

2. Funds Available
Budgets for direct costs of up to $100,000 per year and a project duration of up to four years may be requested for a maximum of $400,000 direct costs over a four-year project period. At least 80% of the amount requested must be spent in the applicant country or through subcontracts/collaborations with another eligible country; no more than 20% of the requested budget may be spent in high-economy countries.

1.B. Eligible Individuals
Any individual(s) with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research as the PD/PI is invited to work with his/her organization to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for NIH support. Foreign investigators who currently serve as PI on any NIH-funded grant are not eligible to apply. PDs/PIs must have a primary appointment at an eligible institution/organization.
