RFP ANNOUNCEMENT: DEVELOPMENT, TESTING AND EVALUATION OF CANDIDATE VACCINES AGAINST PLAGUE - NIH-NIAID-RFP-DMID-04-17 RELEASE DATE: August 5, 2003 NOTICE: NOT-AI-03-052 National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) (http://www.niaid.nih.gov) RECEIPT DATE: December 1, 2003 DESCRIPTION The Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) seeks to develop a vaccine to protect the general United States population against plague. This RFP is intended to target vaccine candidate(s) that can be produced at a scale to support Phase I clinical trials with a manufacturing process amenable to subsequent scale-up and continued development. Studies proposed in response to this RFP will be compatible with a licensure path and consistent with pilot-scale manufacturing and contract timelines. The Government contemplates awarding one or more contract(s) for accomplishing the tasks outlined in the Work Statement. It is anticipated that these contracts will have two to three year performance periods. RFP-NIH-NIAID- DMID-04-17 will be available electronically on or about August 1, 2003, and may be accessed through the NIAID Contract Management Branch (CMB) Home Page by using the following electronic address and instructions: NIAID/CMB Home Page (via the WWW): Use http://www.niaid.nih.gov/contract to access the NIAID/CMB Home Page.
