PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE: 

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is terminating 
PAR-03-025 at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-03-025.html 
and will be replacing it with an RFA.

This action is being taken because peer reviews and staff reviews of 
applications received for the January 23, 2003 receipt date clearly 
showed that additional information and guidance to investigators would 
enable them to prepare better, more responsive applications.

Investigators who have started preparing applications in response to 
PAR-03-025 should hold those applications. The applications will be 
accepted in response to the RFA. Investigators will benefit from the 
opportunity to amend or modify their applications based on the 
information in the RFA.

Research on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) will be added as a 
research topic under the RFA.
