INACTIVATION OF NIAID'S SMALL GRANT PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT (PA-02-038)

PURPOSE

The purpose of this notice is to alert the scientific community that 
effective with the October 1, 2003 receipt date, the National Institute 
of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) will accept investigator-
initiated small research grant applications that are responsive to 
PA-03-108, NIH SMALL RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM (R03).

Therefore, NIAID's earlier announcement, PA-02-038, is being 
inactivated and the final receipt date for applications in response to 
PA-02-038 will be June 1, 2003.

NIAID will continue to use the small research grant (R03) as 
appropriate to meet specific program needs as announced individual 
Requests for Grant Applications (RFA) and Program Announcements (PA).
Investigators responding to one of these RFAs or PAs should follow the 
quidance provided in that announcement.
