DESCRIPTION

An Amendment has been issued to NIAID solicitation NIH-NIAID-DMID-03-39, 
entitled,
"In vitro and Animal Models for Emerging Diseases and Biodefense." This is 
Amendment #2, dated January 15, 2003. It provides the following changes to 
the solicitation:

o    To clarify confusion between announcements this extends the due date for 
proposals to Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 4 PM Local Time.

o    Identifies the distribution of the twelve (12) task orders to the six 
(6) generic Parts e.g.: Part A has Task A (1), Part B has Task B (1), Part C 
has Tasks C (1), C (2), and C (3), Part D has Tasks D (1), D (2), D (3), and 
D (4), Part E has Tasks E (1) and E (2), and Part F has Task F (1). Note 
that, in addition to the submission of one (or more) proposals for any 
generic Part, Offerors are required to submit a separate proposal (containing 
a technical portion and cost portion) for one (or more) of the Task Orders 
under the generic Part for which they propose.

o    Provides guidance on preparation of the separate technical and cost 
proposals for each Generic Part (A through F) and provides guidance on the 
preparation of the separate technical and cost proposals for the twelve 
Tasks. 

o    Amends the text of the Generic Part C statement of work and its Note to 
Offeror # C-1.

o    Increases the page limit on the Generic technical proposals from 150 to 
200 pages. The page limit for the Task Order is 150 pages.

o    Offerors are encouraged to review the actual solicitation amendment at
