Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants that the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will hold a pre-application technical assistance live webinar for RFA-AG-23-016, "Transition to Aging Research for Predoctoral Students (F99/K00 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)" on Thursday, August 17, at 2:30 PM ET.

This webinar will answer frequently asked questions about the F99/K00 and provide tips for assembling a strong application. We encourage attendance from students who are already conducting aging research, or who may be interested in aging research in the future.

Potential applicants interested in participating in the webinar should register using this link: Zoom Registration Link

Webinar connection information will be provided to registered participants.

The webinar is optional and is not required for application to the NOFO. A webinar recording will be made available by September 17, 2023 on the NIA F99/K00 Website.

The NIA F99/K00 award (RFA-AG-23-016) supports graduate students in finishing their dissertation research on any topic, and continuing to a postdoctoral position conducting research on aging. The award has two phases: the F99 phase supporting one to two years of predoctoral training, and the K00 phase supporting up to four years of postdoctoral research. This award is open to Ph.D. students studying in the United States who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or on a valid U.S. visa.

Participants of this live webinar are strongly encouraged to review the RFA announcement and be prepared to ask questions. Potential applicants may submit questions prior to the webinar to NIA Training and Career Development (NIATraining@mail.nih.gov). Questions posted during the live session can be submitted through the chat feature.
