RFA-AG-24-012 invites R25 applications to fund one-to-two year intensive research education programs in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias (ADRD) for recent baccalaureates. Programs should be designed to provide research opportunities at 75% effort for participants, as well as academic and career development programming to prepare participants for admission to advanced degree programs or other research-related science career opportunities.

RFA-AG-24-013 invites R25 applications to fund hands-on summer research education experiences in AD/ADRD. Programs may target high school students or undergraduate students with a goal of enhancing their interest and persistence in AD/ADRD-related studies or careers. Alternatively, programs may target K-12 STEM teachers with a goal of using the research education experience to enhance their STEM curriculum.

These two NOFOs share a goal of incubating and developing the next generation of researchers in AD/ADRD, an area that is mission-critical for the NIA. Additionally, they both aim to enhance the diversity of early-stage researchers in AD/ADRD by providing paid research education experiences in environments that are inclusive, supportive, and safe.

Participants of this live webinar are strongly encouraged to review the RFA announcements and be prepared to ask questions. Potential applicants may submit questions prior to the webinar to NIA Training and Career Development (NIATraining@mail.nih.gov).
