Purpose
This Notice informs potential applicants to PA-18-823 “Analyses of CALERIE Data and Biospecimens to Elucidate Mechanisms of Caloric Restriction (CR)-Induced Effects in Humans (R01) (Clinical Trial Not Allowed)” of additional pre-application requirements. A request to access the CALERIE biospecimens must be submitted through the CALERIE website and approved by the CALERIE Steering Committee (SC) prior to any submission of an application. Further, a letter of support from the CALERIE SC should be included in the grant application to demonstrate that the necessary study approvals have been obtained. Failure to follow this guidance may negatively impact the funding potential of an application even if it receives a scientifically meritorious score.
