Purpose

The NIAAA announces the availability of funds for Administrative Supplements to active NIAAA funded R01 grants on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). These funds are intended to support studies on children with neurodevelopmental deficits resulting from prenatal alcohol exposure. NIAAA is interested in supporting applications that focus on, but not limited to, how essential nutrients naturally present in some foods, e.g., choline, mitigate these neurocognitive and behavioral deficits when administered as either a prenatal or postnatal supplement.

Individual requests can be no more than $ 65,000 in direct costs exclusive of Facilities and Administrative costs on sub-contracts for a one-year award. Active awards with project end dates in FY 2020 or later are eligible. The award may not be in terminal no cost extension or going into no cost extension in FY2019.

March 15, 2019, by 5:00 PM local time of applicant organization.

Application and Submission Information:

Applications for this Administrative Supplement must submit an application through the Parent Announcement PA-18-591 titled "Administrative Supplements to Existing NIH Grants and Cooperative Agreements (Parent Admin Supp Clinical Trial Optional)".

Submissions should indicate that they are in response to NOT-AA-19-009 in Field 4.b on the SF 424 form.
