PNEUMOCOCCAL REFERENCE LABORATORY AND CLINICAL TRIAL LABORATORYSUPPORT FOR DMID CLINICAL TRIALS NIH GUIDE, Volume 26, Number 25, August 1, 1997 RFP AVAILABLE: NIH-NIAID-DMID-98-08 P.T. 34 Keywords: Microbiology Biological Resources Clinical Trial National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases The Respiratory Diseases Branch (RDB), Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID), the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has a requirement for a reference and resource laboratory for pneumococcus and laboratory support for clinical trials. The pneumococcus reference and resource laboratory shall: 1) develop and standardize pneumococcal assays; 2) measure and quantitate anti-pneumococcal antibody responses for various isotypes and quantitation and characterization of functional antibody to pneumococcal antigens; 3) perform serologic assays; 4) develop and standardize reference reagents; and 5) prepare and make available to the scientific community antigens and reagents to both pneumococci and Hib. The laboratory support for clinical trials shall be performed on an optional basis at the sole discretion of the Government. This is a recompetition of Contract N01-AI-45196 with the University of Rochester. It is anticipated that one cost-reimbursement contract will be awarded for a period of five (5) years. Please note that the RFP for this procurement has been revised to include only the Work Statement, deliverable and reporting requirements, special requirements and mandatory qualification, if any, the Technical Evaluation Criteria, and proposal preparation instructions. All information required for the submission of an offer will be contained in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission and the initial review process, offerors comprising the competitive range will be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting Officer. Responses to this RFP will be due on August 4, 1997. Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government.
