NCI POLICY ON SMALL SHORT-TERM GRANTS NIH Guide, Volume 25, Number 21, June 28, 1996 P.T. 34 Keywords: Grants Administration/Policy+ National Cancer Institute The National Cancer Institute (NCI) advises potential grant applicants that acceptance by the NCI of small research project grants (R03) will be considered only in response to an NCI announcement specifically inviting such applications. Unsolicited grant applications in areas not covered by the announcements proposing preliminary short-term research projects limited in time and amount of support will not be accepted by the NCI.
