The purpose of this notice is to provide changes in contacts, addresses, and telephone numbers of staff as contacts at NHLBI, NIDDK, and NINR for the Program Announcement. Program staff listed for the three Institutes have different physical activity research interests for handling programmatic requests. Dr. Elaine Stone is interested in cardiovascular health of children/adolescents and physical activity. Dr. Denise Simons-Morton and Dr. P. Scott Allender are interested in adults and coronary heart disease prevention. Dr. Tom Doubt is interested in cardiovascular homeostasis; prevention, and therapy of cardiovascular disease; mechanisms that reduce risk of infarction, arrhythmia~s or sudden cardiac death. Virginia Taggart is interested in the areas of asthma and the effects of exercise on the pulmonary manifestations of cystic fibrosis across all age groups. Dr. Judith Fradkin is interested in the effects of exercise on prevention and management of diabetes and in the effects of physical activity on body composition and overall health and fitness in cystic fibrosis. Dr. Susan Yanovski is interested in obesity prevention, obesity, weight maintenance, and eating disorders related to physical activity. Dr. Hilary Sigmon is interested in any area of physical activity across all age groups. The Program Announcement contains detailed suggestions for the specific types of research questions of interest. The NHLBI, NIDDK, and NINR are interested in receiving applications for research projects such as R01s, R29s, R18s, and other mechanisms such as career development (K-series).
