National Institute on Drug Abuse

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals

from qualified organizations having the capability to produce, store

and distribute labeled and unlabeled opioid peptides and related

compounds. These may include, but are not limited to, unlabeled

tritium or I-125 labeled opioid peptides and related compounds.

Compounds shall be maintained in adequate amounts and purity and

shipped as designated by NIDA. Offerors must possess adequate

facilities and equipment, and have extensive experience with solid

phase peptide synthesis, purification and characterization of

peptides in general, and opioid peptides in particular. It is

anticipated that a five-year, incrementally funded,

cost-reimbursement, completion-type contract will be awarded with

five one-year options. This is a continuation of work under NIDA

contract N01DA-1-7302 with Multiple Peptide Systems in San Diego,

California. Estimated issuance date of Request for Proposals (RFP)

No. N01DA-6-7053 is October 16, 1995; responses are due to be

received in the contracting office approximately 45 calendar days

thereafter. Requests for a copy of the solicitation will be honored

if received within thirty calendar days after the scheduled issuance

date. Requests received after this period will be filled on a

first-come, first-served basis until the supply is exhausted;

however, there is no assurance that copies requested after the 30th

day will reach the requestor before the due date for receipt of

responses. All reasonable sources may submit a proposal that will be

considered by the agency.
