The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the

application guidelines for the multipurpose arthritis and

musculoskeletal diseases centers have been revised and are in effect

for all applications received on or after June 1, 1995.  Applications

for this ongoing program are received on February 1, June 1, and

October 1.



Fourteen multipurpose centers are currently funded by the National

Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS)

and will be submitting renewal applications over the next four years.

Organizations not currently funded are encouraged to consider

applying for this program during the renewal cycle as additional

centers are not anticipated.  Eligible organizational entities are

major medical complexes in the United States with a base of

meritorious biomedical research related to arthritis and

musculoskeletal diseases.  NIAMS expects the following applications

from currently funded centers: one in 1995; seven in 1996; five in

1997 and one in 1998.
