The Nursing Department at the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center,
National Institutes of Health (NIH) is cosponsoring a nursing
research workshop with the Department of Research and Education,
Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.  This program is intended for
nurses at all levels who are interested in development, enactment, or
expansion of nursing research initiatives and activities.

This one day seminar will:  (1) describe a model for nursing research
that is clinically focused and staff nurse driven, (2) assist
clinicians to identify research priorities for their unit, (3)
describe key aspects of research protocol development in the unit
based model, (4) identify common roadblocks to research
accomplishments and how to overcome them, and (5) discuss the
outcomes of clinical research for the organization, nursing practice,
and the professional nurse.  There will be ample time for questions
and networking with the presenters to discuss topics of interest.

Program faculty from the Clinical Center at the NIH are: Gladys
Campbell RN, MSN; Barbara Summers RN, PhD(C), CS, OCN; Rose McConnell
RN, BSN; Tim Stockdale, RN, BSN; Alice Kacuba RN, BSN; and Jessica
Palmer, RN, MSN.  In addition, faculty from Children's Hospital of
Pittsburgh will present their partnership approaches to the model.
