NOTICE OF LIMITED COMPETITION OF COMPETING RENEWAL APPLICATION: PEDIATRIC BRAIN TUMOR CONSORTIUM RELEASE DATE: June 2, 2003 NOTICE: NOT-CA-03-029 National Cancer Institute (NCI) (http://www.nci.nih.gov/) The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is announcing a limited competition for a competing renewal application for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. This initiative is intended to continue the support of multi-institutional, early phase pediatric brain tumor clinical trials in order to identify new therapeutic approaches that can subsequently be studied in later phase national pediatric clinical trials. The NCI wants to continue this effort and is seeking an application from the PBTC Operations and Biostatistics Center to continue the work of the PBTC and its investigators in creating and evaluating new approaches to the treatment of pediatric brain tumors. The PBTC cooperative agreement will consist of a single U01 award to the Coordinating Center, which will develop consortium agreements with existing full and provisional members of the Consortium. Scientific approaches taken by the Consortium will continue to be broad and will reflect the creativity and capabilities of team participants. NCI staff will contact the current grantee directly regarding application procedures and format. The application receipt date is July 25,2003.
