Notice Regarding HIV/AIDS-Related R21 and R01 Applications in Response to PAR-05-100, Brain Disorders in the Developing World

May 16, 2006 Submission Date
The 2006 non-AIDS application deadline for both R01 and R21 applications is May 16, 2006, and should be submitted on the PHS 398 (paper submission) according to the existing PAR-05-100 guidelines (http://grants1.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-05-100.html). 

Future Submission Dates

R01 Applications:  HIV/AIDS-related R01 applications for the August 23 deadline will continue to be submitted on paper using the PHS 398 in response to PAR-05-100. The first electronic submission for Brain Disorders R01 applications is for the 2007 receipt dates.

R21 Applications:  Any HIV/AIDS-related R21 application, submitted in response to the Brain Disorders in the Developing World program announcement (August 23 deadline), will need to be submitted in the new electronic SF424 system through www.grants.gov.  Paper applications will no longer be accepted for R21 applications beginning June 1, 2006. 

A new announcement will be out soon for electronic submission of the R21applications due August 23. For content, you will still follow the guidelines in PAR-05-100
