Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to indicate the intent to re-issue RFA-RM-21-022 Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity at Minority Serving Institutions (U01 Clinical Trial Allowed). The re-issued RFA will solicit new applications or revisions for a proposed March 25, 2022 final due date.

Background

In May 2021, NIH issued an RFA) to address health disparities and advance health equity at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). As part of efforts through the NIH Common Fund to promote a diverse research workforce (see NOT-OD-20-031 for NIH Interest in Diversity) and to build and to support research capacity building at institutions that enroll significant numbers of students from backgrounds nationally underrepresented in biomedical research, an additional submission opportunity specifically for MSIs is planned for FY 2022.
