National Institutes of Health (NIH), (http://www.nih.gov/)
The purpose of this notice is to inform potential applicants about the intention to re-issue the NIH Roadmap RFA, Training for a New Interdisciplinary Research Workforce, originally issued December 16, 2003 as RFA-RM-04-015. This RFA solicited institutional training grants using the T90/R90 mechanism. The goal of this program was to train a cadre of investigators who will use novel interdisciplinary approaches to address complex biomedical problems. Interdisciplinary training, in this program, was intended to encompass multiple disciplines so that trainees would be capable of melding the disciplines to arrive at novel experimental approaches. Although several interdisciplines exist, such as bioengineering and biocomputing, the intent of this program was to facilitate the development of new interdisciplines via training in disciplines that do not typically intersect. The full text of the original RFA may be found at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-RM-04-015.html.
The anticipated release date for the RFA is September, 2005 with applications due in February or March, 2006. The announcement will be published in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts in the usual manner.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED AT THIS TIME.
