Purpose

This notice is to clarify that the research scope of this FOA allows submission of COVID-related research proposals on individuals exposed to the September 2001 terrorist attacks, including responders and community members (also referred to as survivors). For the requirement to include the primary diseases or conditions listed in Section I of the FOA that you propose to study, please use "emerging conditions" for COVID-19.

Applicants are reminded that they may use the optional PHS Assignment Request Form to designate that your application be assigned to NIOSH or NIA. If this form is not filled, the application will go to NIOSH by default.
