The purpose of this Notice is to inform interested applicants that NIOSH will participate in the “Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research”.  Principal Investigators, currently funded through a NIOSH research grant (R01), are eligible to request administrative supplemental funds to existing grants for the support and recruitment of underrepresented students, post-doctorates, and eligible investigators from underrepresented groups.

The purpose of this supplement is to attract and encourage underrepresented individuals to enter and pursue a professional career in occupational safety and health research.
NIOSH is limiting total costs of individual awards to $33,000 per year and expects that about $100,000K will be available for this program in FY-2011. Applications will be considered for research experiences of up to one year.

Letters of Intent are not required; however, interested applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the NIOSH program official to discuss their application and the current status of this program. Applications are to be sent directly to the program official listed below.
