Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants that the Office of Disease Prevention
(ODP) will participate, effective immediately, in PAR-15-346, “Time-Sensitive Obesity Policy
and Program Evaluation (R01)" and to detail additional interest of ODP.

The following changes have been made to reflect ODP participation in this FOA.

The FOA currently reads:
Institute-specific interests:
NIDDK: The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases is particularly interested in the evaluation of large-scale weight related programs or policy that is targeted to obesity and/or diabetes prevention.
NICHD: The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development is interested in applications that propose to evaluate the impact of weight related policies or programs on children, families, pregnant women, or children with disabilities.
NCI: The National Cancer Institute is particularly interested in the evaluation of programs or policies that may affect dietary or physical activity behavior and/or weight, and studies incorporating economic research.
With the participation of ODP, the FOA now reads:
NIDDK: The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases is particularly interested in the evaluation of large-scale weight related programs or policy that is targeted to obesity and/or diabetes prevention.

NIA: NIA is interested in research on programs and policies affecting diet, sedentary behavior, and physical activity among mid-life and older adults, including programs and policies based on research in behavioral economics.
ODP: ODP is interested in co-funding applications related to the evaluation of programs and policies that may impact diet, sedentary behavior, physical activity, and weight control or obesity prevention across all populations and age groups and within a wide range of settings, including studies on the economics of prevention.
