Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to correct information in Section III. 3. Additional Information on Eligibility and Section V. 2. Review and Selection Process for PAR-14-228 “NIH Science Education Partnership Awards” which was published on May 16, 2014.

Part 2. Section 3.3 Additional Information on Eligibility

Currently reads:

Institutions are limited to a single SEPA award.   An institution, normally identified by having a unique DUNS number or EIN number, with an active SEPA project is not eligible to submit a new SEPA application.    

Modified to read:

Institutions are limited to a single SEPA award.   An institution, normally identified by having a unique DUNS number or NIH IPF number, with an active SEPA project is not eligible to submit a new SEPA application.    

The following paragraph has been deleted:

Academic institutions with multiple campuses:  If each campus has a unique EIN number, then each campus is eligible to submit a SEPA application.  If all campuses have the same EIN number, then the institution is limited to a single SEPA application.  

Part 2. Section V.2. Review and Selection Process

Currently reads:

The following will be considered in making funding decisions:

  • Scientific and technical merit of the proposed project as determined by scientific peer review.
  • Availability of funds.
  • Relevance of the proposed project to program priorities.  

Modified to read:

The following will be considered in making funding decisions:

  • Scientific and technical merit of the proposed project as determined by scientific peer review.
  • Availability of funds.
  • Relevance of the proposed project to program priorities.
  • Geographic distribution of the awards.

All other aspects of this FOA remain unchanged.
