National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Extramural Research, Office of Research Services, Division of Information Services (OER/ORIS/DIS) http://grants.nih.gov/grants/oer_offices/suboris_dis.htm
As NIH’s fiscal year comes to a close on September 30, 2010, NIH encourages institutional officials to verify the accuracy of the FY10 award information reflected in NIH systems to ensure the most complete and accurate information is reflected for your institution in FY10 reports. Any corrections to the data must be received by Monday, October 4, 2010 to be reflected in NIH reports.
Each year NIH develops reporting files that are used to develop the reports found on the RePORT Website, address inquires from the Department of Health and Human Services, Congress, research community and to meet annual reporting requirements on NIH’s expenditures. The data in these files are “frozen” in mid-November to ensure the reporting files produce consistent reports. It is imperative that corrections to the data occur before these files are frozen to ensure the veracity of NIH’s FY10 reports.
Verifying Your Information:
Verify the accuracy of the grant award information for your institution by going to the NIH Extramural Awards by State and Foreign Site page, selecting FY10, and drilling down by state or country to find the data for your institution.
To submit a correction, please copy the complete row of the grant information to be corrected from the spreadsheet (which has an NIH identification number for the grant) into a new file, retaining the data to be corrected. Use the row immediately below to indicate changes requested.
Corrections to the data for your institution must be provided to the eRA Service Desk at http://itservicedesk.nih.gov/eRA/ no later than Monday, October 4, 2010. Any changes not reported by this date may not be reflected in our reporting files.
It is recommended that you recheck the data in approximately 2-3 working days to verify that the change has been made. These files will be updated on a daily basis, but data changes are not necessarily reflected in the database on the day they are made.
Thanks for your cooperation. We hope to provide guidance and tools in the near future that will help you manage the quality of the data for your institution more easily.
