Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) will present an IACUC 101 Workshop on March 28 and the 2009 IACUC Conference on March 30-31, 2009 in San Diego, California with support from the NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW), the Animal Care Division, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
Program descriptions
IACUC 101 – “The Basics” – is a full day didactic and interactive educational program designed to provide Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) members, administrators, veterinarians, animal care staff, researchers, regulatory personnel and compliance officers with information on the role and responsibilities of IACUCs, including an understanding of federal policies and regulations governing laboratory animal welfare.
PRIM&R 2009 IACUC Conference – “Our Public Responsibility to Animals and Society” – is a two-day conference that will include a range of keynote addresses, panels, workshops, and didactic sessions, designed to help build and strengthen an effective animal care and use program.
Additional events to include the Pre-Conference Educational Program, IBC Basics,on March 28 followed by the AAALAC International Conference on Quality Animal Care on March 29, 2009.
