Error correction window extended to November 14, 2008 for NIH, AHRQ and NIOSH grant applications due November 3-10, 2008

NIH, AHRQ and NIOSH are extending the two day error correction window (the time allowed after the submission deadline to address NIH system identified errors/warnings) for applications submitted for due dates of November 3-10, 2008. This includes R01 applications due November 5 and responses to the following FOAs: AG-09-009, AG-09-010, AI-08-007, AI-08-011, PAR-08-025 and PAR-08-258. The error correction window for these applications has been extended to November 14, 2008 to allow applicant sufficient time to correct their applications and complete the submission process. The extension is in response to a delay in application processing by Grants.gov.

  • Applicants who submitted applications on-time and received a Grants.gov tracking number and timestamp by 5:00 p.m. local time on the application due date do not need to take any special action they must complete the submission process by November 14.
  • Applicants who submitted applications on time, but received no confirmation from Grants.gov should document their issues with the eRA Service Desk. The Help Desk will maintain a Systems Issues list that will be shared with NIH’s Division of Receipt and Referral. These applications will not be considered late as long as submission process is completed by November 14. Users may want to take advantage of the Help Desk’s Web interface (http://ithelpdesk.nih.gov/era/) to enter their own tickets.
    Reminder: Tuesday, November 11, is a Federal holiday and the eRA Service Desk will not be staffed.
  • If for any reason an applicant is unable to complete submission by November 14, please contact the eRA Service Desk for guidance.
  • As always, any application submissions made after the deadline should contain a cover letter describing why the application has been submitted after the deadline and any changes made to the application since the deadline.
