Purpose:

The NIH is alerting the applicant organization community that they may now use the Grants.gov 2007 system for System-to-System submission of grant application data. This includes application data submitted to the eRA system for NIH; AHRQ; FDA; and NIOSH. Applicant organizations using the Grants.gov’s 2007 for system-to-system transmission should note that the application images will have a different look and feel, however, changes are cosmetic and the data remain unaffected.
Background

System-to-System transmission is a method used to submit application data directly from the internal system of an organization or institution to Grants.gov without using Grants.gov’s forms. Some applicant institutions have partnered with commercial Service Providers or have created their own system to system tool to submit data. The NIH had earlier advised these applicant organizations against using Grants.gov 2007 for system-to-system transmission (see NIH Guide Notice NOT-OD-08-020) due to truncated fields causing application images to display incomplete application information. The issues of concern have now been addressed.

Note: This notice has no impact on applications submitted to Grants.gov using PureEdge forms. All electronic applications submitted in PureEdge through Grants.gov automatically use the 2006 system
