New FAQs for Recruitment and Retention Plan to Enhance Diversity, and for Policies Related to Parental Leave and Child Care

This notice announces the availability of frequently asked questions (FAQs) for Recruitment and Retention Plan to Enhance Diversity (http://grants1.nih.gov/training/faq_diversity.htm), and FAQs for Policies Related to Parental Leave and Child Care (http://grants1.nih.gov/training/faq_childcare.htm).

Diversity: The recruitment and retention plan to enhance diversity is required in all applications for institutional research training, institutional career development, and research education grant awards (e.g., T32, T35, K12, R25 and those training/education components of CTSA).

Leave and care: In general, personnel involved with NIH supported projects may use NIH grant funds to cover expenses associated with child care and parental leave, provided that those benefits are available to all employees with comparable appointments at the grantee institution.  The limitations and allowability of such expenses are discussed in the FAQs.
