Delays in Grant Application Submission due to Recent Severe Winter Weather

The recent snowstorms of January 2005 may lead to problems for investigators who are planning on submitting grant applications. Applications that are submitted late because of the snowstorms should include a cover letter noting the reasons for the delay. It is not necessary to get permission in advance for such weather-related delays in grant application submissions. It is expected that the delay will generally not exceed the time period that an institution is closed.
