RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH (RCR) RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) invites proposals to the RCR 
Resource Development Program which supports the creation of RCR 
instructional materials that may be used by various institutions and 
organizations requesting or receiving research funds from the Public 
Health Service (PHS).  This program does not fund research, 
administrative systems, or train-the-trainers programs.

ORI has committed $200,000 in FY 2003 to fund about 8 projects.  More 
projects will be supported if funds are available.  Thirteen projects 
were supported in FY 2002.  Submission deadline is February 28, 2003.  
Award notification will be made in May 2003.  Funding through purchase 
orders should occur about July 2003.

Proposals must have significant relevance to PHS funded research, 
propose products that will be made available to the research community 
for free or at minimal cost, and address one or more of the nine RCR 
core instruction areas or suggest a new core area:

	Data acquisition, management, sharing, and ownership
	Mentor/trainee responsibilities
	Publication practices and responsible authorship
	Peer review
	Collaborative science
	Research misconduct
	Conflict of interest
	Human subjects
	Animal subject
