BALANCED SCORECARD SURVEY Release Date: February 4, 2002 NOTICE: NOT-OD-02-032 National Institutes of Health In an effort to assess the performance of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grants Management function, the Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA), NIH, is conducting a survey of Grant Administrators/Business Officers, Principal Investigators and Program Directors. This survey is a part of a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) initiative and will be conducted using the Balanced Scorecard approach. Survey results will be used to evaluate the organizational performance of NIH Grants Management Offices and Program Offices in providing grants management services to applicants and recipients. Logistics Management Institute (LMI) will administer the survey, which has received OMB clearance and will take approximately ten minutes to complete. Survey participants from the same organization may receive surveys at different times. Additionally, survey participants will receive contact information from LMI for questions.
