LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM FOR HEALTH DISPARITIES RESEARCH OFFERED BY NCMHD

National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities

The National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD) is 
pleased to announce funding for the Loan Repayment Program for Health 
Disparities Research ( HDR-LRP  or  Program ).  The HDR-LRP provides for 
repayment of the educational loan debt of qualified health professionals who 
agree to engage in basic, clinical or behavioral research directly relevant 
to health disparities research for an obligated period of service no less 
than two years.  

The NCMHD, through the Program, seeks to recruit and retain highly qualified 
health professionals in research careers that focus on minority health 
disparities research or research related to the medically underserved.  
Pursuant to Public Law 106-525, 50% of the HDR-LRP awards will be made to 
individuals from health disparities populations.  Please note, however, that 
all eligible individuals are invited to apply.  This Program is an effort to 
not only have qualified health professionals impact the medical processes 
within their communities, but also to engage and promote the development of 
research programs that reflect an understanding of the variety of issues and 
problems associated with disparities in health status.

Research investigators interested in participating in the HDR-LRP are
