CONFERENCE ON "RESEARCH COMPLIANCE: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES", MAY 6-7, 2001 Release Date: April 9, 2001 NOTICE: NOT-OD-01-031 Department of Health and Human Services Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine are jointly sponsoring a conference on "Research Compliance: Challenges and Opportunities," scheduled for May 6-7, 2001. The conference will take place at the Renaissance Hotel in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The conference will feature workshops on animal care and use, managing financial conflicts of interest, protecting human subjects, fiscal grants management, responding to allegations of research misconduct, and teaching responsible conduct of research. The meeting is designed to facilitate discussion between speakers and participants and to foster a dialog among investigators, representatives of research institutions, and government officials. Speakers will include representatives from government agencies and academic institutions around the country.
