Institute or Center Specific Information:
NINDS will support institutional research training programs in areas relevant to the NINDS mission, formerly supported under PAR-24-126 or PAR-24-108 (expired). These programs should produce well-trained neuroscientists who leave the program with the research skills and scientific knowledge to make a significant contribution to neuroscience research.
NINDS will only support institutional training programs through the Parent T32 NOFO in two categories: 1) Advanced Institutional Research Training and 2) Translational Institutional Research Training. Programs in either category must provide 1-2 years of support for trainees in one or more of the following groups: dissertation-stage predoctoral students in their 3rd and/or 4th year of graduate school, postdoctoral fellows, and/or fellowship-stage clinicians.
Applicants to the NINDS T32 program are strongly encouraged to contact the NINDS program director before beginning the process of applying for a research training grant. For further information, see our website: NINDS Institutional Research Training Grant Program Descriptions and Guidelines.

Institute or Center Specific Information:
The NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience Research (NIH Blueprint) is a collaborative framework that includes the NIH Office of the Director and 12 NIH Institutes and Centers that support research on the nervous system. The NIH Blueprint, in conjunction with the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) and the National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), supports the Jointly Sponsored NIH Predoctoral Training Program in the Neurosciences (JSPTPN), formerly described under PAR-22-265 (expired).
The primary objective of the JSPTPN is to prepare individuals for careers in neuroscience that have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the nation. JSPTPN programs will support students for 2 years. The NIH Blueprint will only support programs that fulfil the following criteria:
1) provide broad and fundamental research training in the neurosciences;
2) include a curriculum that provides a strong foundation in experimental design, statistical methodology and quantitative reasoning;
3) include laboratory rotations that allow students to explore different research areas, scientific approaches, and laboratory cultures; and
4) students may only be appointed to this training grant during the first 2 years of their graduate research training.
Applicants are requested to indicate that they are applying for the NIH Blueprint JSPTPN in the application cover letter and to direct their application to NINDS in the Assignment Request Form. The JSPTPN program is managed by an NIH-wide steering committee with one member from each of the participating institutes.
Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to consult the JSPTPN website and contact the Scientific Program Contacts to discuss their concept for this initiative during the development stages of the application.
All other aspects of the NOFO remain the same.
