Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to amend the Award Information section, and the Application and Submission section of PAR-15-146 "Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Research Centers of Excellence (U54)".

Part 2. Section II. Award Information

Award Budget
The FOA currently reads:
Application budgets are not limited but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project. For most studies within the scope of this FOA, the anticipated direct cost for individual awards is $2-3 million per year for a total of $10-15 million over a maximum five-year project period.

It is now modified to read:

Application budgets may not exceed $2.5 million in direct costs per year over. Many applications will not need to request the maximum budget and the size and duration of the awards will vary depending upon the nature and scope of research programs.

6. Other Submission Requirements and Information

The FOA currently reads:

Requests of $500,000 or more for direct costs in any year
Applicants requesting $500,000 or more in direct costs in any year (excluding consortium F&A) must contact NIH program staff at least 6 weeks before submitting the application and follow the Policy on the Acceptance for Review of Unsolicited Applications that Request $500,000 or More in Direct Costs as described in the SF424 (R&R) Application Guide.

It is now modified to read:
