Purpose

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) announces opportunities for investigators with active NIMH-supported research grants to request 1 year of supplemental funding in FY2016. More than 1 year of supplemental funding will only be considered with very strong justification. NIMH is interested in supplements that address research areas in accordance with its goal of accelerating mental health research as described in the Institute’s Strategic Plan.

All supplement requests should be submitted via PA-14-077 "Administrative Supplements to Existing NIH Grants and Cooperative Agreements (Parent Admin Supp)" and must follow all guidance provided in the FOA, including the stipulation that supplement requests are permitted only for items or activities that fall within the scope of that award, but were unanticipated at the time that the application was submitted.

To be considered for FY2016 funding, all requests must be received by April 1, 2016, 5 pm local time of the applicant organization, as is posted on the NIMH website related to Administrative Supplements.  All applications should be preceded by consultation with the NIMH Program Staff associated with the parent grant to discuss the potential supplement request
